The Alliance is seeking a Policy and Developer Relations Manager to engage and inform our two key audiences on issues where their priorities intersect. We’re looking for a dynamic advocate that understands both policy makers and developers and can translate between them; someone excited by the future and eager to engage with the companies and entrepreneurs driving the digital economy. Beyond that, we’re looking for someone motivated and capable of rapidly growing into new roles and pitching in as needed to amplify the voice and brand of a re-startup.

  • Drive the production and capture of policy positions and messaging alongside the CEO and other policy primes.

  • Blog on policy, participate in online forums, and drive content to educate and engage developer and policy audiences. Personality welcome.

  • Cultivate relationships with Alliance startup members and Developers Network participants; engage them on public policy issues through direct outreach and indirect channels.

  • Attend panel and industry events in Washington, DC and at developer events. Engage with developers on their turf, and policy makers on theirs.

  • Evangelize within the developer community to build our brand and identify and activate policy champions.

  • Champion expansion of our startup and small enterprise support base. Identify new members and bring them on board.

  • Be an evangelist for the Alliance and our mission.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in policy, membership management, or technology evangelism.

  • Remarkable writing and excellent analytical skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in-person, by phone, on digital channels, and in email.

  • Experience and connections within the technology policy space and the developer community.

  • Passion, curiosity, and knowledge of code development and the developer lifecycle.

  • Background in privacy, data protection and the internet ecosystem a strong plus.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and/or Apple and/or Google Suite, social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Well-versed in current events and national news, particularly in the tech industry.
